How to Decorate for the Seasons with Intentionality

My husband and I are opposites in a lot of ways. He is very minimalistc, like practically a monk. He’s one of those ‘only buy it when you need it’ guys, whereas I’m much more of a ‘I had a bad day, I need to buy myself a little treat’ type of girls. This puts us at odds in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to decor and the ‘must-haves’ versus the ‘nice-to-haves.’ While I wouldn’t describe my decor style very maximalist, like my mother, who has boxes and boxes of decor for every season and holiday stowed away in the garage (no hate, her home is the coziest place I know). However, I defnitely like to make my home reflect the seasons with little touches.

I tend to stray towards the practical decor, rather than decor just for decor’s sake. So that leads me to buy things like cozy blankets, door mats, seasonal items like pumpkins or pinecones to decorate a table, or different colored candles to mix up the space. Here are a few things I’ve found over the years to decorate my space that have become staples of my home, and a few deals that I have on my wishlist. Enjoy!
